The
HOST
The HOST is in reality one or
more computers running an arbitrary OS (or none at all), for the purpose (but not limited to) of hosting network daemons on
behalf of the HOSTs other
processes and/or the network of other
HOSTs it is connected to.
The HOST will in this papper
always be addressed by a name as well as an
IPv4 address
or an
IPv6 address.
The symbolic name is in this papper of vital importance in order to tell that a package really comes from the remote
HOST it clames. One
HOST in the local network will
host the network REGISTRATION daemon in order to enable the local network the
ability to serve one or more
SERVICES
from behind a firewall. There is no need to have a nwtwork REGISTRATION daemon if we don't have the local network behind a
firewall, as all HOSTs also
have their own REGISTRATION daemon for it's own daemons that serves some
SERVICES.
