Amber

Approx. C10H19O

Mix of diffrent organic minrerals.
Appearance: Appears in various shapes and sizes of small nodules or masses. The color is often orance to dark brown. Rearly green, violet or black. Contains often fossil remains of plants or insects which are clearly visible on transparent amber.
Hardness: approx. 2-2,5
SG: usually 1,05-1,1
Transparance to translucent.
Kristallsystem: Amorph
Environment: Amber is fossilized resin as residual or derived from transportation in sedimentary deposits of the Tertiary period.
