Azurite
Cu3[OH|CO3]2
Nitrates, (carbonates, borates) a hydrous copper carbonate.
Appearance: Tabular or prismatic elongated crystals. Often a pseudomorph of other minerals (malachite). Color pale blue to dark blue.
Hardness: 3,5-4
SG: 3,7-3,9
Transparent or translucent with vitreous luster.
Crystal system: Monoclinc.
Environment: Azurite are a secondary coppar mineral and forms in the oxididated regions of copper deposites. Forms at lower temperature then malachite, often found in sand stones as impregnations caused by carbonatic water and rich in copper sulfates.
