Aragonite

CaCO3

Nitrates, (carbonates, borates) a calcium carbonate
Appearance: Often elongated prismatic crystals. Radiating groups are often twinned and produce pseodo hexagonal forms. Color colorless, white, yellow, redish, grey, brown, gren, blue, violet.
Hardness: 3,5-4
SG: 2,9
Transparent to translucent with vitreous luster.
Crystal system: Orthorombic.
Environment: Forms in high-pressure, polymorph of calcite in metamorphic rocks at low temperature. Forms easily in a sedimenterian environment in caves, limestone areas or mineral vains around hot springs.
