Agate is a silicate (tectosilicate, silica group), silicate oxide.
Appearance: Often banded, formed with concentric banding of diffrent colors.
Hardness: 7
SG: 2,6-5
Semitransparance.
Crystal system: Trigonal, Hexagonal.
Environment: Formed in rounded cavities in lava by water solutions, often called geods.
